EliteSingles.com is a unique and specific kind of online dating site designed to help those single men and women find compatible partners who are looking for long-term relationships, which are serious in nature rather than casual. Most similar to websites like eHarmony.com and Match.com, Elite Singles prides itself on its’ algorithm system which matches users based on their overall compatibility based upon how similar they are in terms of personality, character traits, and physical aspects.

The name of ‘Elite Singles’ is done for a reason as this particular online dating website focuses on those members of society who are highly educated, well-off professionals who are looking for other singles who are in the same class as them in terms of their intelligence, personality, and work ethic.

Elite Singles Review

Background

EliteSingles is a relatively new online dating website which advertises itself as being available to premium members looking for serious relationships. The website was only founded about three years ago in 2013 in Berlin, Germany by German entrepreneurs Lukas Brosseder and David Khalil.

Since its’ founding, the website has grown exponentially and now is available across the English-speaking world in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc. The website brought in over 60 million euros in total revenue and has hundreds of thousands of members who have signed up and joined since EliteSingles first started a few years ago.

EliteSingles boasts a well-educated membership with over 3/4ths of the users having been university educated and who also boast higher than average incomes compared to the average worker.

In order to register for the website, each member has to take a 280-question personality test which evaluates qualities such as your openness, conscientiousness, extroversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism. By completing this personality test, EliteSingles can more easily find you the matches that you would best get along with and could start a relationship with. In all of these questions, you will be asked about your preferences, likes and dislikes when it comes to hobbies, interests, strengths, weaknesses, passions, etc.

After you submit the long and detailed questionnaire, EliteSingles will do the rest of the work by providing you as the user with about five to ten matches per day based on your mutual compatibility from the answers you have provided.

There’s no ‘search’ feature on EliteSingles so you can’t sift through all the members registered on the website. Instead, EliteSingles will give you a list of potential matches per day and update it each day in case you don’t find what you want with the previous matches.

Main Features

When you sign up for a free membership with Elite Singles, you’re able to get access to a number of features without breaking the bank and without needing to pay for an upgraded membership.

  • Creating A Profile

You can create a unique profile for yourself by signing-up using basic information like your e-mail address, gender, and what you’re looking for whether its’ casual dating, a relationship, or just friends. After signing up, then you need to enter in what gender you’re looking for in terms of dating, along with personal information like your birthday, martial status, education, career / job, your height / weight along with your race and ethnicity.

  • Characteristics and Beliefs

In terms of your physical characteristics, you’ll be asked to describe your appearance and what you look like to other members. You can use words like ‘athletic, fit, sexy, etc.’ when it comes to telling other members what you are and also what you desire in a partner.

When it comes to religion and personal beliefs on your profile, you can show others how much or how little it matters to you and who you want in a partner.

In the ‘About Me’ section, you’ll have to indicate which sentences or phrases describe you the best and give words on the profile that sum up your personal characteristics.

You could use words such as ‘friendly, warm, extroverted’ or ‘cold, judgmental, reserved’ in order to sum up your personal description on your profile. On top of that, your profile should tell other members what kind of characteristics, personality, and appearance you’re looking for in a partner by selecting certain statements that pertain to you and your worldview.

  • Emotions and Qualities

For your online profile, you’ll have to list the emotions you feel the most and the least based upon a sliding scale from one to ten. Certain emotions that you feel are going to be asked of you such as ‘anger, sadness, hope, etc.’

In addition, you’ll have to share which qualities you want your partner to have the most and which ones matter to you the most as well. Some of these qualities include ‘physical attraction, affection, chemistry, etc.’ which you’ll also have to evaluate on a sliding scale of what is most and least important to you. On your profile, you also have the chance to show the three things that you’re most thankful for in your life.

  • Passion and Intetersts

When it comes to your passions and interests, you’re asked to write about your personal hobbies and how much they mean to you on your profile. You can list which ones are most important to you on a sliding scale, similar to the emotions and characteristics, which appeal to you the most or the least. You can describe which passions you have in words and what are a couple of things that you like to do for fun outside of your working life.

  • Personal Habits

When you’re searching for a partner on EliteSingles, you’re asked on your profile on which personal habits do you want or do not want for your romantic partner. Specifically, you can state what you think when it comes to a partner’s smoking habits, drinking habits, and whether or not you would want children from a relationship.

  • Pictures

Lastly, you can add a number of pictures from your computer files or from social media networks like Facebook to your EliteSingles.com profile in order to complete it. As a user, you should keep in mind that the EliteSingles.com staff must approve each profile picture before they can be finalized.

  • Likes

Lastly, you can highlight what are the top ten likes that you would want to have in a relationship along with the top ten dislikes that you would want to avoid when it comes to starting a relationship.

  • Personality Profile

In addition to the personal profile, each member has the option to complete a ‘personality profile’ which is based upon the score that is evaluated based on your answers from completing a personality analysis based on different characteristic traits and qualities.

  • View Matches

Any free user can view their matches, view other users’ profiles, add others users to their favorites’ list as well as see which users have visited their profiles recently.

  • Mobile App

There’s also a mobile application that has been developed for the Apple iOS system and Android so now any user of Elite Singles can access their profile, their matches, and other features when they are away from their home computer.

Additional Features

When you sign-up for an upgraded membership with Elite Singles, there are a few additional features that you can gain access to which could provide for a more useful and successful experience. By upgrading, you can see the actual photos of other members who you have matched with.

  • Advanced Messaging Options

With advanced messaging options, you’ll be able to read and write an unlimited amount of messages to your matches too. When you send a message to your matches, you’ll be able to get a ‘read receipt’ indicator at the bottom of the conversation so you can see if those members have read your messages or not.

  • ProfileVerification

You’ll have the option to ‘verify your profile’ so you can prove your actual identification to other members to prove that you’re a real person and not a scammer or fake. When you activate this feature, you can see if matches of yours have been verified as well so that you won’t have to waste your time on fakes and scammers.

Elite Singles Costs

Since EliteSingles.com is known as being for the elites and upper class members of society, it’s not hard to see why this particular online dating website would be more expensive based upon its’ clientele. The latest pricing numbers come from November of 2015, which is the last time when the prices for EliteSingles.com were finalized.

In order to pay for a premium or premium plus membership, both PayPal and major credit cards are acceptable means of payment.

Response time can really send its own message.

Originally Published:

When you first start dating someone new, figuring out texting etiquette can be a bit tricky. You’ve likely experienced that anxious feeling after waiting for what seems like an eternity for them to text you back, and then, when they finally do, you’ve probably asked yourself, 'How long should I wait to text him back?,” or, “When's the right time to respond to her message?,” and of course, 'Will this ever feel any less stressful?'

According to relationship and etiquette expert April Masini, when it comes to texting, your response time can send its own message. “People definitely keep their eyes on the clock when it comes to texting,' Masini previously told Elite Daily. 'The text-back rate is used to indicate interest in the relationship. This is especially true when the relationship is new. If someone texts back right away, that text back rate can indicate interest! If someone waits a day or a week to text back, that text back rate can indicate an absence of interest.'

When the relationship is new, deciding how long to wait to text back can be tricky, especially if you don’t want to seem too interested. However, plotting how long you're going to wait to respond to a text message — instead of just naturally responding as your schedule permits — is a form of game-playing.

As NYC relationship expert Susan Winter told Elite Daily, game-playing creates tension, which might not be an effective way to establish a genuine connection. “Humans seek resolution and clarity,' Winter previously told Elite Daily. 'The partner that creates tension sets up a situation where [the other person] won't know where [they] stand. This dating game keeps one's prey on guard and insecure.” Although keeping a date on their toes in this way might be tempting, it’s also a form of manipulation, and before you engage in it, you should ask yourself what exactly you're expecting to achieve by doing this.

If your goal is to maintain power, then this might work for a while, but it’s also probably not sustainable and could make you seem disingenuous. “It creates obsession within people,” dating coach John Keegan tells Elite Daily. “What it tells you about the person that's doing it is that they are manipulative, they are trying to control, and they are trying to have power.”

In the larger scheme of things, how long you wait or don't wait to reply to a text is most likely not going to make a person with a genuine interest in you like or dislike you more. The people who typically respond positively to games are more often than not the people who are in it for the chase. Unfortunately, people who fall into this category are usually showing interest for the wrong reasons. Although some people may seem to be responding 'well' (i.e., they are eager to meet up, they're double-texting you, and they overall seem super interested in you) to longer reply times, these kinds of games only work for a little while.

'The problem is when the other person takes equally as long to respond,” dating coach and relationship expert James Preece previously told Elite Daily. “This leads to a very stilted conversation that risks both parties losing interest.' So, what is an OK amount of time to wait before responding? Preece and Winter agreed that sending text responses should be natural. This means that — if you’re in meetings all day —there’s nothing wrong with texting back a few hours after you received their message. If you have the day off and get a text while you’re free, then it’s totally fine to respond within a few minutes of receiving it.

However, if you’re still worried about seeming too available, first ask yourself, what kind of texter are they? How do they respond when you text them first? Are there a couple of minutes in between each of their texts? Are there a couple of minutes separating their texts in the beginning of the convo that turn into larger, 20-minute gaps? Do they like to text first, then wait forever to respond to you, if they do at all? Mirroring their texting frequency can be a safe way to mirror their interest level, but again, if the result is that communication is too minimal to propel the relationship forward, then this might not be the most productive method of communicating with someone who you actually like.

If you value keeping busy, consider booking your calendar with fun events that you can look forward to. Go out of your way to comfortably fill your schedule. This way, you’re accomplishing productive things that will actually affect your ability to respond. Been wanting to get focus on your health? Then it's time to start hitting the gym or enroll in a fitness class. And guess what? That's right, you'll be away from your phone for a bit. Planning to hang out with your bestie? Awesome! How about turning off your phone so you can really enjoy their company without distractions? Instead of checking your phone compulsively in class or while at work, put it on silent and check it during your break.

The next time you meet up with them, not only will they be totally impressed with how multi-faceted you are, but you'll actually have transformed yourself into the person that you otherwise were putting effort into seeming more like — someone who's got too much going on to let someone they're dating consume them. Or, better yet, you could say IDGAF to the whole situation and respond to his text or her text whenever you want, despite how it might come off. “In the long run, no healthy relationship can be formed from a polluted foundation,” said Winter. “Game gets game. Real gets real. When you start with 'game,' it's almost impossible to convert to 'real.’”

Anyone who's worth their salt will be super pumped to hear from you exactly when they hear from you.
